
Background
I've been a practitioner for about six years before I began my yoga teaching journey with Downward Dog Yoga Centre. I completed my 200 Hour teacher training in 2020 with renowned mentors including Ron Reid, Marla Joy, Pat Harada Linfoot, Scott MacBean, Jennifer Helland, Athena Lamarre, and more. In a typical class, you will find a mix of repetition, breath & movement coordination, isometric holds, as well as breathwork and meditation to get a well-rounded practice.
I completed my 300 Hour Advanced Teacher Training at Octopus Garden Yoga Centre.
Rather than a top-down approach, I am a forever student myself, learning from my practice, my mentors, and students. I believe the coordination of breath and movement is more integral than achieving the advanced asanas (poses). It's about tuning into how we feel in the present moment. From this process, we achieve a deeper connection with ourselves and cultivate a sense of mindfulness and peace that's going to benefit us in many aspects of life off the mat.
